Official Essay Format — Echelon Essay Competition 2025

1. Title Page (Mandatory)

  • Essay Title
  • Participant’s Full Name
  • Grade/Class
  • School/Institution
  • City & Country

2. Essay Structure

A. Introduction

  • Presents the topic clearly
  • Establishes background/context
  • States the thesis or core argument

B. Body Paragraphs (2–5 paragraphs)

  • A clear main idea
  • Analysis, reasoning, or evidence
  • Examples, case studies, or data (if relevant)
  • Smooth transitions

C. Conclusion

  • Summarises main arguments
  • Presents final insight, recommendation, or reflection
  • No new arguments introduced

3. Originality Requirements

  • Work must be fully original and written by the participant.
  • Plagiarism, including AI-generated content, leads to disqualification.

4. Citations (If Used)

  • MLA
  • APA
  • Chicago
  • Harvard
  • All references must be properly cited.

5. Submission Rules

  • File name format: EEC25_FullName_Title.pdf
  • Upload through the official submission link (website/socials)

Echelon Essay Competition 2025 — Guidelines & Rules

1. Eligibility

  • Open to high school students (Grades 8–12 or equivalent) from any country.
  • Individual submissions only; no group entries.

2. Essay Topics

  • Choose one topic from the official 2025 topic list.

3. Judging Criteria

  • Clarity of argument
  • Research depth & analysis
  • Structure & coherence
  • Creativity & originality
  • Writing quality
  • Relevance to the chosen topic

4. Submission Process

  • Submit via the official link on Echelon’s website/socials.
  • One submission per participant.
  • Late entries are not accepted.

5. Results & Awards

  • Results announced on Echelon’s website and social media.
  • Awards may include: certificates, cash prizes (pending sponsors), publication opportunities, and special mentions.

Official Topics — Echelon Essay Competition 2025

1. Public Policy & Governance (General)

  • a) Design a policy for India in 2050: Define a national priority focusing on sustainability, technological leadership, and equitable growth.
  • b) If you could redesign the Indian education system, what would you change first—and why? Reform foundational learning and align curriculum with future skills.
  • Examine evolving work models shaped by AI, automation, and workforce trends.

2. Economics & Business

  • a) Is India’s young investor boom a revolution or a ticking time bomb? Assess whether rising retail participation creates prosperity or unsustainable risk.
  • b) Can AI-generated businesses replace traditional startups? Evaluate AI’s new role in automating and accelerating entrepreneurship.

3. Public Policy (Focused)

  • a) Can India become a welfare state without increasing taxes? Explore fiscal models supporting welfare expansion with existing revenue.
  • b) Are public protests a legitimate policy tool or a breakdown of democracy? Debate protests as democratic expression vs. governance disruption.

4. International Relations & Geopolitics

  • a) Is the world moving from unipolarity to ‘AI-polarity’? Analyze global power shifts based on AI dominance instead of nation-states.
  • b) Will BRICS ever rival the influence of the G7? Consider economic strength, political coordination, and global influence.
  • c) Should countries prioritise national sovereignty over global cooperation? Weigh self-reliance against international interdependence.
